Publication Ethics Statement
Jurnal Kejuruteraan, Teknologi dan Sains Sosial (JKTSS) upholds the highest standards of integrity and ethical practice in scholarly publishing. We are committed to ensuring that all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—adhere to internationally accepted ethical guidelines and best practices.
This statement is based on the guidelines provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other reputable academic standards.
1. Responsibilities of Authors

Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism. All sources must be appropriately cited. Plagiarized content or fraudulent data will result in rejection or retraction.

Multiple Submissions: Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal.

Acknowledgement of Sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must be given. Any data, figures, or text taken from other works must be clearly cited.

Authorship: Only individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research and writing should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.

Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their research.

Ethical Approval: For research involving human or animal subjects, authors must provide evidence of approval by the relevant institutional review board or ethics committee.
2. Responsibilities of Editors

Fair Review: Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process.

Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not disclose any information to unauthorized parties.

Decision-Making: Editorial decisions are made based solely on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.

Conflict of Interest: Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.

Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, and constructive feedback should be provided to help authors improve their work.

Acknowledgement of Sources: Reviewers should identify any relevant published work that the authors have not cited and report any potential plagiarism or ethical issues.

Timeliness: Reviewers should respond promptly and complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe.
4. Responsibilities of the Publisher

Editorial Independence: The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions and ensures that the journal operates with academic freedom.

Archiving and Access: The publisher ensures long-term digital preservation and free access to all published content in accordance with the journal’s open-access policy.

Ethical Oversight: The publisher works with the editorial team to handle any cases of misconduct, following COPE’s flowcharts for ethical complaint resolution.
Misconduct and Retraction Policy
JKTSS will investigate all allegations of research or publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data falsification, and unethical experimentation. When misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions will be taken, which may include correction, retraction, or banning future submissions from offending parties.
